As was demonstrated in an interview with Katie Couric, Sarah Palin is unable to name any Supreme Court Case other than Roe v. Wade.

The Rules: Post info about ONE Supreme Court decision, modern or historic, to your lj. (Any decision, as long as it's not Roe v. Wade.) For those who see this on your f-list, take the meme to your OWN lj to spread the fun.

First one that comes to mind is Brown v. Board of Education. I'm pretty sure this was a landmark case involving segregation in schools.

Truthfully, I'm not engaged with the supreme court decisions. Then again, I'm not running for a major political office.

Bush Vs. Gore.

If she new any supreme court ruling other than Roe v. Wade you'd think she'd have known this one. I mean it essentially decided the outcome of the 2000 election.

Plessy vs. Ferguson.

What planet is this woman from, and how many weeks ago did she first arrive on Earth?

Alaska, and four. Remember, she had to fight off the vampires in 30 Days of Night.

When did she first arrive? She said it last night. "How long have I been at this? Like five weeks?" As if THAT was a resounding fact in her favor?

Or perhaps the Exxon Valdez case? I mean even if she didn't remember the name - I think the case about the environmental destructions of ....ALSAKA! might have come to mind?

not to nitpick but I believe it was Bush v Fla. Others springing to mind are the dreaded Dred Scott decision, Miranda, and the afore mentioned Plessey v Ferguson. Fred Thompson wisely pointed out most non lawyers probably couldn't name another either.

No, most non-lawyers probably couldn't. But she's not most non-lawyers. She's the Republican Vice Presidential candidate. Someone who wants to take part in leading not just the state of Alaska, but an entire nation, has the responsibility to be better informed.

I'd have had a lot more respect for her if instead of trying to bullshit, she'd admitted to her lack of expertise in that area in the "straight-forward" manner that she claims to use.
