And the job hunt starts in earnest today. I've spent the morning searching monster.com, sending out resumes, making phone calls.
Found one job listing that looks exciting, and a handful that are decent. Probably a fifth of the ones I found have been withdrawn or canceled. The exciting one wants five years of team lead/management experience, which I don't have, but I fill the rest of it in spades.

Headache.

Do you also use Dice.com? They seem to be more techie than Monster.

Monster, dice, techies, flipdog, craigslist, yahoo.

Kind of going through the list.

Use LinkedIn, too. Plus, they have a job board and you can instantly see people you have a link to at that company.

It worked for me.

I haven't even hit Dice yet. I'll probably do Linkedin next.

I think that most employers put their "ideal" candidate in their "requirements."

If you don't have everything on the wish list, but you've got solid strengths in most of the areas, you're still a good bet.

Talking with the recruiter, their second most important trait was the experience as team lead. I've only had about a year, so it's quite possible it won't be enough.

'Sokay. There's more out there.

Best of luck, m'dear!

I am also going to be hunting in earnest. Today at work things got far worse than they were already. I am ready to get out of there. I don't even care if I have to get a roomate & take a lower-paying job. >:[
