War Food

One of the games that comes with Mom bringing war food is the Mystery Meat game.

The meat comes in plastic bags, frozen. The first phase is to try and guess the meat before it thaws out; the second (and high-stakes) phase is to try and guess the meat after it thaws out.

Tonight's entry was a partial pack of Farm Fresh franks. There were three left in the package, and they were a really odd color that's really not any normal meat color I've ever seen, sort of a grayish-green.

I microwaved them, but chose not to eat them. I think it was a prudent decision. Sadie was happy. She also got what I think may have been either turkey or tuna; that I couldn't tell made it a fail in the phase 2 round.

It's not all bad, really. I got some quite excellent bacon, and discovered that frozen cheese, once thawed, crumbles beautifully.

I always wondered if it was OK to freeze cheese.
