Ah, but if you had to choose between one and the other, which would it be?

Copout.

The question is somewhat rhetorical. It's designed to make you think about what is important to you, and why. It's the why that's important.

Many people live without either. It'a sad existence, but they do manage. Some have one and not the other, many have both. Rarely do those that have both think about it.

JESUS CHRIST...
...THAT'S AN EVIL QUESTION!!!

As it is late and I still have to study for training tomorrow, I will but briefly expound on what makes it so evil.

I thrive on touch. Sometimes the body can say things that words cannot. But to phrase it in an "either or" is to ask for one without the presence of another. Touch is important because of honest expression. If it becomes empty of affection or depth or sincerity, it loses meaning for me.

Yet to be loved without any form of physical touch or affirmation (even in the non-sexual sense) would cause me to wilt. Touch is the comfort food of a relationship of any kind. How could you possibly separate the two? I cring at the thought. Cringe, I tell you.

I suppose I would choose to be "loved without touch" of the two options, as I would at least know it to be genuine. But I would still wilt and be seriously depressed about it.

Re: JESUS CHRIST...
That was the point. An either/or. And it was my stab at poetry. You can tell by the lack of capital letters or punctuation. :)

It came to me while I was thinking that whichever you had, the other would be desired. Part of a story I'm working on, but the image was worth its own little enshrinement.
