Okay, the jump from 45 to 50 minutes?

Have you considered getting a heartrate monitor to make sure you're getting the most out of your workout? I've always been of the "I don't need that gadget" school of thinking, but I had to buy one for my class.

I love it. Hate to exercise without it now. I learned that although I'd been working hard while exercising, I was actually working at too high a rate to really burn fat. Now that I've been watching the monitor and staying within a certain heartrate, I'm seeing much better results. It was amazing to me to actually *see* the numbers as my heartrate shot up and have my trainer tell me to *slow down* to be more efficient.

I know that cashflow is an issue right now, but you when you're able, you can pick up a really basic model for around $40.
