Turns out it was a bad jack, corroded over time. Disconnected a couple of unused wires, and all is working fine now. And I found a loose wire so I have the main phone line up in the studio again.

However, now I have to fix a light socket in the basement. It's one of those pull-chain switches that the switch broke. Just one more thing to add to the list.

Hey, at least you can fix these things without hiring an electrician! :)

Yeah. I can fix pretty much anything. Or at least mechanical/electrical stuff. Relationship stuff I'm pretty much in the "suck ass" category. And not in the fun way.

Yeah, well, we both know how I do in such categories! Hah! I've been single now for 2.5 years. Or thereabouts. But mostly it's because I wanted to be. I should see if I can't fix the broken sink in my bathroom. I think I figured out why I couldn't get the pipes to line up properly. Plus, I'd really, really like to be able to use the damned thing again!!! I have a big pile of hand-wash only items that I've been considering paying a drycleaner to get cleaned up. o.O

If you have a camera and can take pictures, or a webcam that you can get in there, I can probably help online sometime. It'd be like having a virtual plumber, but without the butt crack!

heh heh!!
Ironically, while talking with my counselor I realized that when I connected the little pull-stopper it may have changed the placement of the U-pipe, thereby creating a mis-alignment with the other pipe. That is probably why it was never hooked up when the person installed the sink (before I moved in).
