Last nigh was pretty horrible from a sleep standpoint. I never was quite able to get all the way to sleep, wavering in and out between consciousness and bizarre dreamtime about every two minutes. This despite the NyQuil and Tylenol PM taken to try and counteract the cold/flu thing that I so recognizably have.

I'm pretty convinced it's a cold instead of the flu, since the flu generally takes a shorter time to run its course, and this is hanging in there with enough determination that it's pretty obvious it's more than a 24-hour illness. My neck-side glands are swollen and tender, throat sore, I can barely talk, and I'm moving really, really slow. And yes, everything aches.

Coughing is minimal, though it's there. Sneezing is occasional, and... um... productive. I'm not at the stage of wanting to suck my sinuses dry with an industrial shop-vac yet, but I expect that will come in the next couple of days. And yes, I have actually done this. I don't recommend it unless you are very careful, but there are times when it is exactly what is needed, and the relief is awesome, if short-lived.

I should change my bedding, though I will probably wait until the major sick is done. Cold medicines and sweating/fever/chills make for a pretty intense sick smell, and I'd rather just not be reminded of the sick, thankyouverymuch.

Most folks who went have posted about their experiences, and vorrant has pictures up from the weekend, which can describe the experience in much more detail than I could with mere words.

My own experience was probably more powerful for me than in previous years, while at the same time more relaxing. I was much less tied to scheduled events this year (I was a couple of hours late to Craft time and ran up against the clock with materials being put away while I was still in building mode, and I completely missed Pretty Pretty Playtime). I got to meet some new people (well, new to me), and got to play some rather fun reindeer games.

Didn't do as many massages as last year, which is a good thing for me. Sunday wasn't good since I was starting on the road to teh sick and I was in achey-pain without understanding why. Made packing up exhausting and slow.

I ate and drank far too much, which was part of the plan for the weekend. Friday was the hard party night, and it did seem like there was a lot of steam to be blown off all around. Some excellent apple-pie flavored alcohol with an ass-kicking effect was supplied by davedujour and scotia_girl, and was handily enjoyed. I remember cooking hot dogs over a fire pit at some point, a zombie typing game, cuddles and flirting, barbecued ribs, homemeade caramels that were uber-yummy, shiny consuite food, rum, spanking, rubbing croonerboy, and a bunch of other stuff that today lives in my memory as a large hedonistic blur.

Overall, a pretty healthy success.

Trying to make it through the day without falling over or becoming entirely useless. Beyond that, I'm thinking hard drugs and sleep. NyQuil has dextromethorphan hydrobromide, which makes me a bit of an asshole mood-wise. I'm thinking I'm not exactly good company right now.

My goal to make you an art piece was missed at the craft table. :(

Re: rub a dub dub
Dark cloud, silver lining and all that. 'Cause you know all that free time is something that will take you away from worrying about paying the bills and all.

And I know what I'm making you. I have to figure out how to do it and all, but that's a hurdle I can ovecome.
