Nov. 24th, 2006

Earlier today, I managed to drop a rather heavy board straight down on my toe. Hurt like hell, was actually wondering if I had broken it.

Cut to unloading the groceries, and clumsy me drops a 12-pack on the same fucking toe.

There was much swearing.

I just took my socks off.

Uh. Ibuprofen is my friend.

OWIE! There is no such thing as a "toe splint", so I suspect that if it's broken you just get to suck it up and wait until it feels better.

On the bright side, if your toenail falls off, you can put it under your pillow and the next morning, the toenail fairy will have brought you two shiny Euros and a McRib sandwich.

My first night in welding class I dropped a heavy piece of scrap metal on my toe. But that looks about 10x worse! I'd say ice it to keep the swelling down. Otherwise, you probably won't be able to walk on it or put shoes on.

FUCKING OW. There's no such thing as a toe splint, but if you tape it to the toe next to it, that will help keep it immobile. If it starts to swell a lot, ice can keep it down. *hugs*

I dropped a steel bar onto my foot once - it hit the instep, *bounced* and then hit the base of my toes. They x-rayed it twice the were so amazed I hadn't broken anything. Milk - it does a body good!
