Woke up this morning with a bit of a sore throat and coughy stuff. Was hoping it was from some allergy thing or other, or maybe just dry weather. Puttered around the kitchen, prepped the turkey that I bought for cooking and some other miscellaneous stuff, and was beginning to feel worse.

Uh-oh.

Went back to bed to nap. Figured maybe it would give my body a chance to clock out for a while, and maybe I'd feel good enough to call up Artemis to go see a movie. I couldn't get warm enough, even with several layers of blankets.

Uh-oh.

Just woke up. Still coughing, still sore throat, still chills. Handy-dandy thermometer tells me my body temp is 97.1, but I'm not entirely sure of its accuracy. Second round shows 95.8; at that rate, I'm expecting rigor mortis to set in soon.

I called Artemis and let her know that I wouldn't be coming over. I'm bummed because I was looking forward to it, but I am not in the place where I can actually have a good time; I'm more in the place where chugging Ny-Quil and sacking out sounds fabulous.

I do need to stay somewhat awake to watch the turkey. It should be ready to come out of the oven sometime around 7:00, but it may want to stay in longer.

I'm hoping that this is just a quickie flu, and not a recurrence of the strep or something worse.

I get negative temps when I have a sinus infection. They also suck all my energy. I also get sore ears, sometimes sore around my jaw and upper cheek. Hot tea and broth helps. I usually get over mine with the help of vitamin C after three days.
