Mony Mony

I've been noticing a trend lately, where a number of my friends are starting to fall off the financial edge. Too many folks are turning to selling their belongings, picking up quick short-term cleaning gigs, offering services of various kinds to try and make ends meet.

Aside from being trobled because my friends are in dire enough straits that this becomes necessary, I'm disturbed that the number of instances is growing.

I don't have any answers. I'm just frightened that this erosion will continue.

My own financial position is a bit tenuous. I'm still riding that razor's edge of having no savings and not really being able to save until I get the house in some more decent contition, or I get a rent-paying roommate.

I dunno-- one of the options that I may have is for the insulation and siding on the house. The numbers that I've been getting make it very positive to get the old siding torn off and the walls insulated, but doing the final wrap and siding myself. It's the kind of thing that I could probably use some help doing, and I could probably pay some cash outlay to a person or two to help with that; it's not horribly difficult work, it's just tedious and awkward to do by myself.

I still have to explore the cost of all this stuff.
