Waking up, my mind is spinning with a song that I haven't heard in a very long time, since my childhood. It was a B-side from Grandpa Jones (B-side of T for Texas) called Tritzem Yodel, and I was wondering if I could find the lyrics.
There is an expensive import CD collection that has the song on it. I don't think I've ever heard the song on anything other than an old scratchy 45 played on a Silvertone record player
(the link to amazon has a sample player if you're curious).
What I discovered is that the lyrics are apparently in some sort of legal fuzzy area which apparently precludes them from being available, which is too bad because I don't remember them well enough to understand (if you listen to the sample of the song, you'll understand why).
Bear in mind, this is the stuff that I grew up with. Part of me really wants to buy the expensive CD set to be reminded of the music of my youth, before I developed my own tastes, but another part of me rebels at the thought of too much hammered banjo music drilling into my skull. And the middle of the night isn't the best time to decide anyway.
Anyway, I've satisfied my curious whim. Back to bed for me.
