It's been a rather intense day. I pretty much just finished the reports that they wanted friday. Most of the day was spent updating the database, the rest was fighting TrackWEB's query/report interface.

I'm exhausted.

I know the feeling.

Not only was I buried with the first stages of the document conversion project, not only did I have to train my IT-degree-holding sidekick on how to FTP a file using the command line, not only did I have to explain to another manager why converting documents from PDF to DOC format wasn't just a "one-click" thing, but I had two calls for interviews for different full-time gigs.

My favorite call went like this:

THEM: The client really likes your resume!

ME: Great!

THEM: So, if they offer, can you start on Monday, right?

ME: Um...no. I'd need to give these people at least two weeks, if not more. It wouldn't be fair to leave them in the lurch.

THEM: (pissed) So what am I supposed to tell the client?

Yeah. Fun times.

That's a really good indication that the recruiter does not have your interests in mind, and they're just looking for the quick-turn buck.
