I think you should go for a mossy tree like smell from aveda and stay away from sweet smells.

but I will always be a sucker for old spice.

Just enough to know it's there.
Not so much that's all you notice.

something clean, and earthy smelling. some of the most simple scents are the best. I love old spice on men, and musk scents smell different on everyone. So if you are wearing a musk, not only will it smell divine but it will be unique. Look for a cheap musk oil, at body works or body shop.

I went to look at the bathroom counter to see what that one that I like is. It's by Givinchy and it's named after the symbol for 3.14159...

I do like cologne, but I recommend small amounts.

It's very nice to be physically close to someone and beginning to get involved in a fascinating conversation when suddenly... WOW! What is that awesome smell?

It is NOT nice to need to keep a safe distance because the scent of cologne is so overpowering that it could make a girl's eyes water.

Also, I've had many good things to say about "Snuggle" fabric softener over the years.

Does the pi cologne also give you migraines and make you good at math?

Bears are amazing creatures.
No.

However, "Snuggle" fabric softener **does** have that effect.

It's remarkable really.

I'll echo the "moderation" sentiment.

Believe it or not, I still love Old Spice, too. Wonder what it is about that? I think it just reminds me of hanging out with my dad as a kid.

In addition, favorites include:

**Cool Water - Davidoff (the Men's version -- the Women's version is icky to me!)
**Hugo Boss ONE (but it's really hard to find)
**tommy - Tommy Hilfiger
and a relatively new cologne that seems to be flying off the shelves, **Euphoria - Calvin Klein

Scents for the Marmot... Hmmm....
*nods at above* Yes... please don't bathe in it, whatever scent you choose. Those of us with asthma will thank you for it. *nods again*

For me, scents go with memories of people, and even a tiny whiff of something can make the brain take a sharp left turn (usually in a GOOD direction... ;-).

Um.... a light musk is usually good.... as is sandalwood. A little Drakkar is nice (yum!) depending on the person, and I have a strange fascination for Stetson (nice memories; someone I dated a long time ago).

And, oddly enough, Canoe smells good on nearly *everyone* I've smelled it on, even women.

You strike me as someone who'd wear a woodsy, sandalwood/cedar scent (light, but with depth).

Try on a few different ones that you like, (one each on different days). Wear it for a while to see what your body chemistry does with it -- body chemistry does things with scents (a lot of things that smell floral or citrus end up smelling spicy on me).

Pick a chicky who's opinion you respect. (Women have better sniffers then men. Scientific and everything.) Go to a mall counter (or Walgreens). Try some stuff. Bring unscented baby wipes to clean and switch arms in between each swipe.

All scents smell different on differnet people.

Lots of women in my age range had dads who wore Old Spice. It triggers familarity and safety. Sweet stuff tends to be cloying on men.

Oh yah and ditto on the not dousing.

Speaking of Old Spice...

Anyone seen the new commercial for Old Spice featuring Bruce Campbell singing "Hungry Like the Wolf"? I LOVE IT! Makes ME wanna wear Old Spice. :-)

there is a "special man" in my life and i don't know what he wears but i keeps asking if i can keep one of his shirts (for the smell) and he says no, the bastard.

nothing beats the smell of clean dick, though.
sorry. that's a bit private.

by Mennen!
so I ask the man what he wears and he says,
"only Old Spice deodorant. I'm very old school".
he's also VERY DELICIOUS.

ps, not OldSpice related, the first fella in my life wore a certain deodorant and it's still around. when i smell it, i remember every lick and i inhale deeper. and that's from ancient, ancient history.
