I want to qualify one thing... The reason I gained the weight back, is because I am currently working full time and going to school. This makes it difficult for me to do what I was doing to loose the weight. I cannot exercise and I have to have things that I can eat on the run. I am hoping that beginning next March (when I am done with school AGAIN) that I can get back into the habits that promote weight loss.

I lost 15 pounds earlier this year by essentially walking a minimum of 30 minutes every day and making healthy changes to my eating habits. I never once thought of it as a diet because I intend for the changes to be permanent.

lost 35 pounds while working an 85 or so hour work week with Landroval and hating life. not recommended.

healthier weight loss happened after a) getting rid of chemical birth control, b) getting my asthma treated. Seriously consider making the ability to breathe well your first priority. it's working for my formerly apneatic brother too.

What motivates you to loose weight?...
Being over it?
walking and not being able to breathe.
Climbing up a flight of stairs and being tired.
I'm 25years old for Pete's sake. ...
Now that may be motivation to start... but to continue ... who knows

I have been on and off WW a couple times. I gained back ~10 lbs of the weight I'd lost so I'm back on the program now.

I don't quite fit into the poll, but then I suppose that I like to be special.

I'll be unemployed for a while and become soft and doughy. Then, I get a job and I'll start losing weight just by virtue of having a very physical job. The success of the first few pounds is a good motivator on it's own, then I'll start being mindful of what I eat just because it's annoying to have a physical job and not be in very good shape.

When I've made deliberate efforts outside of daily habits, I've had some success, but it's been more limited. It works so much better for me to just have physical activity and decent food be part of my life.

Here's the only weight loss advice that I really have. I don't know what sort of diet you have right now, but if you decide that you'd like for your diet to be healthier - do NOT go for packaged food that is "LOW FAT!" "LITE" or "NO CHOLESTEROL!".

Just eat real food. Not packaged, processed products - actual food. Try to get a variety of colors in each meal - green should be in every meal, "meat" is not a meal in and of itself.
