Sort of dealing with something right now, and by sort of I mean not really getting all angsty about it but sort of having it whirl around in the back of my mind like a breeze that carries a faint whiff of decayed fish and seaweed off of the lake.

In a word, dissatisfaction. A vague sort of unease, knowing that I've fallen into something that varies between a groove and a rut. Came to light watching the filmmaking guys this morning, feeling both where I belonged and out of place at the same time. It was familiar, like finding family across the ocean in some small village outside of Napoli, but being something of an outsider at the same time.

And I think I should be doing this, and why am I not doing this, and the answer comes back to time and money, the Big Broken Box™ having eaten both and still ravenous for more. It is a domicilious version of the vampire of lore, feeding off time and energy, but able to be sated piece by piece.

So for now I focus on the house, taking it to the next level of completion, while the need for creative appeasement lies dormant, festering, shivering in a nightmare haze of unconscious dreaming, waiting to be awakened in a full-bore orgy of fear and suspense, craving the tangy taste of adrenaline and the faint aroma of desperation. Oh, it will come: my darlings, my pretties, the creatures that live in the borders of your imagination are longing to play in the fields of darkness.

We will play. Oh yes, we will play. Be patient my children.

Thank you so much for your help today. It was invaluable. Truth be told, we could have used you, as we were constantly short at least one person. Then again, I'm not sure you'd want to be around on a 12 hour shoot for a 30 second TV spot. It was brutal. But the final effects were worth it. Hopefully a good cut can be put together by Tuesday (the deadline). Again, thanks again, and we missed you!

If there was more advance notice (ha ha), I could have arranged it and been there, and brought C-stands and arms and stuff (how did you ever mount that light above the poker table?). As it was, I wouldn't have lasted an hour before being comatose.

It did bring back fond memories though, and reminded me that I need to do stuff again.

Glad it went well.

Few know that I am also a gaffer! I ran a line diagonally over a few of those cool timber beams inside the apartment, and hung the light from its cord, directly over the table. Worked out well!

Unfortunately, I forgot to make arrangements to bring the fridge home. Any chance I could bribe you for help again, with dinner and drinks, perhaps?

You're bringing it home? I suppose you never know when you might need a peek-a-boo refrigerator...

I knew you were a gaffer, or at least gaffer-capable. I just didn't see any grip equipment (or any lighting at all for that matter) by the time I left, so I was curious.

Bringing it home shouldn't be a problem, it's a couple of hours of trailer time. When do you need it?

As far as bribing: helping me move those damn doors will bribe me nicely. :)

Oh, there was TONS of lighting equipment that was brought in, but it was all in road cases when we arrived yesterday.

Not so much when I need it, but how soon we can get it out of afterglow81 and slickjohnnyp's apartment. I'm sure they'd like it gone ASAP. I'm available tonight, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings.

And I'd love to help you move damn doors. That sounds super. :/

In that case, let's do it tonight. Let them get their apartment back. I can probably be to your place by 7:00 or so, maybe a bit earlier if traffic allows.

Perfect. See you sometime tonight!
