Biggest chunk was taken up with the reframing for the new door. This is what it looked like when I started this morning:
Sadie loved being outside most of the day.
Part way through, the old framing gone, discarded into a pile on the front lawn.
And after several hours, Sadie decided outside was boring and went back in.
This is the finished framing:
The blue stuff coming out of the sides of the header is the ENT conduit. There is an electrical box flush-mounted in the middle of the header, and the conduit pieces come out from it through holes drilled in the framing, and runs down through a channel carved in the 2x6 studs. Figuring out how to get it to fit was an interesting exercise, but it's in place and solid now, all plumb and level and just the right size for the new door.
I doesn't look like much from the pics, but it was a hell of a lot of work. I am exhausted, and going to bed.
