MINNEAPOLIS, MN,  US 11/30/2007 4:19 P.M. THE RECEIVER WAS UNAVAILABLE TO SIGN ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT. A 2ND DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE

Fuckers.

Edit: next delivery day is Monday, and they require a signature in person. I called the UPS number to see if I could pick up the package, and now I'm waiting for a call back. It's supposed to come within the next hour.

Since I paid extra for 2nd-day delivery, I'm gonna be pissed if I have to wait until monday to be rejected again.

Call the delivery company office. You can usually pick it up at night.

Well, I ordered an expensive bunch of stuff online a few days ago. When I got home, the freaking box was just sitting out in front of my place, where anyone could have stolen it! I am NOT happy with that! The box is not small. Not easily hidden, as the delivery person tried to do, stashing it behind a little hedge style bush next to my front door! :( I live in a townhome that is like apartments, with shared outside walls. So anyone could have walked past it & decided to take it home with them.

We ordered a bunch of expensive sound equipment. Night before last it showed up in a box (left outside our front door) that looked like it had been through the apocalypse. Our neighbor said the flaps were hanging open as the delivery guy carried it to our door. We even took pictures of it. Thankfully, all the pieces seem to have been unharmed.

But, I think that the "signature for delivery" is something the sender is responsible for requesting... not the delivery service. If they're told to just leave it at the door, they will. If the sender is requiring signature, it's just a measure to protect the recipient AND them from lost or stolen merchandise.
