I was awakened in the wee hours of this morning by the sound of glass breaking. Thinking the worst, I got up to head into the kitchen.

There I found my favorite bowl shattered into shards all over the kitchen floor.

It was a good bowl, made from a sort of borosilicate glass, a lot like Pyrex®, but translucent white. Corelle®, apparently, much like this:

It means that I'm down to one serving bowl, and that one is Melmac. Technically it's an antique, but it's just a normal part of my cupboard.

I should probably get some new bowls. They do break. Or maybe I should just content myself with plastic.

As to why it broke, all I can figure is that it was too precariously balanced in the drying rack and just fell off, or possibly assisted by a kitty-induced gravity test.

Just a bit of sad. It was the last of its kind.
