Because I'm looking for some inspiration for short horror, I picked up Fangoria Blood Drive II.

I already have volume I, which isn't all that impressive but does have some charm. I figured Volume II might be better just for the sake of better production, and it is. It's actually entertaining, which is a nice change.

Is it inspirational? Yes, in a way. All of the movies are short, and they all have fairly complete stories. And listening to the commentary (not by the filmmakers themselves mind you, but by the Fango editors that chose the winners), it's interesting to hear why they chose the particular films, and to hear that indeed, the telling of a story is the number one criterion. The second is style, or more properly the use of style to aid in telling the story.

Story. Yeah.
