Yes, there was basement cleaning last night. And there was throwing away of *stuff*, along with the leaving of other *stuff* for the scrap metal fairy who had carted it all away by the time I left this morning.

Three 55-gallon trash bags full of just trash, or what I have deeded as trash.

It made a dent. Something noticeable. There's still a whopping lot to do, and some things I'm just not sure how I'm gonna handle yet. I inherited a whole bunch of old paint from Ma who decided that I needed her old paint. There is a bunch of electronics that I'm hoping to be able to hold off until the Misfits Electronics Recycling Drive, though some stuff is going into my electromechanical parts bin. I also have a bunch of stuff for ebay dollar auctions, if I can ever find the time. Actually having it organized and labeled will help with that quite a bit.

There's a lot more trashing to do as well. It involves some sorting, as there are boxes of things that are quite miscellaneous. I am harder on stuff than I used to be, but there are some things that I know I will be using, where the stuff that has sentimental value only is much more prone to discardation. Fuck sentiment.

I did have to stop for a bit and clean the ignitor on the boiler again. I'm betting that I'm going to have to make a change in the controller to make the flame sensor work better, which means doing some reverse-engineering on the controller itself. I'm pretty sure it's just a resistor change, but I really need to verify that before just changing it.

And tonight is dinner with Mom. It's likely that I'll have to break the news of the surgery to her tonight, so we'll see how well that goes.
