League of Ordinary Gentlemen

Not a movie review, just a reflection on my life.

I actually went to bed way early last night, like a little after 8:00. I read a little bit (Stone Monkey), and fell asleep somewhere a little after 9:00. Partly due to the back pain, partly due to just being tired, and partly because I could.

I managed to install Wolfenstein II last night, and run through the first scene. It looks way cool with the ATI-specific acceleration option on. Not enough time to really go into it in depth, but there are zombies in it, which makes me feel like it should be a lot of fun. Now all I need is time to play it.

Yeah, right.

Camera tests.

With all the moviemaking going on right now, I need to do some camera tests this week. There are some special effects shots that I want to do, and I need to know whether or not I can do them, and whether the methods I've chosen will work. For one, I want to absolutely answer the question as to whether or not I can successfully do greenscreen compositing with my existing camera, as there's such a call for it. The other one I'm wanting to try is a morph technique for motion that's considerably more for effect than a practical shot.
And I need to try a rig-removal test as well.

So it's supposed to be raining a lot this week, and I'm hoping that it will be relatively clear one or two nights so that I can do the majority of these tests outside.

And hey, if I'm lucky, I can find some babealicious babe to be my test subject. If I have to be looking at the same footage over and over, it might as well be footage that I like to look at. :)

Which leads me into a whole other realm, which is fodder for an entirely different journal entry.

So in the meantime, it's back to work I go.

Stream Of Conciousness Meme de ElDogo

Smoker/ Non Smoker?
Non. Was for a while, back in college.

Do you own a gun?
Sure. In a manner of speaking.

Favorite Western?
Hmmm... not one of my favorite genres, but probably The Quick and the Dead. Sam Raimi.

Favourite Pasta?
Ravioli or tortellini. Or possibly Fellini with garlic sauce. :)

Favourite Pizza Toppings?
Spicy asian duck with Thai peanut sauce.

You're on the top of the world, looking down on creation. What do you see?
Creation. Is this a trick question?

If you were a carpenter, and thus, had a hammer, would you hammer in the morning, evening, or both?
Whatever would pay me the most.

Peter, Paul or Mary?
For what exactly?

Woodstock '69 or Woodstock '99?
Oh, '69 easy.

Favorite Snoopy Character?
Zombie snoopy.

Living on the edge

Well, it appears that I may be doing some overtime.

The project that I'm on is behind schedule, and when I asked about overtime, I was strongly encouraged. Which means I'll be spending a lot of time in Owatonna in a hotel room.

It also means I'll be away from home and friends and my pup. I'll be able to go home on weekends, but the weekdays I'll be here.

On the good side, the hotel has a hot tub. :)

Now if I only had a laptop, I'd be in cake.

Me and gorillas

From the last Horror Inc. shoot of the season. And Yes, that is Natalie on the far right.
Gorillas

Okay, doggoneit, the link isn't working. Try this:
