(no subject)

Today I replaced the glass in both the back and side doors to the house. I splurged and bought special safety glass, which makes it quite difficult to break; it's a lot like your car windshield, except that the middle safety layer is considerably thicker.

I'ts not going to stop a highly determined thief, but it will most likely deter the casual assho burglar.

The rest of the day was spent in various pursuits: a trip to Menard's to price out lumber and a new compound miter saw (after discovering that mine was missing), and dealing with a batch of crappy government-wants-money mail-- the IRS is really pissing me off.

Spent a lot of time talking with Barb today. Somewhere between good and bad, but at least we're still talking. And I had to deal with my mother on the phone giving me advice on how to handle the breakup.

It's a wonder I survived into adulthood, really.

Went and saw The Life of Brian at the Lagoon. 25 years old now, and I caught some faux pas, like a boom mic in the scene repeatedly, and a guy in a suit jacket in the distance during the crucifiction. But Biggus Dickus is still a riot, as is Incontinentia Buttocks.

And quite suddenly, I was sad. Intensely sad. Thinking of the last 25 years, and what I have done with my life, and feeling like it didn't really add up to a whole lot.

Who am I?

I should have been famous by now. What happened along the way?

You are a demon, a dark being without a soul.
Though you have power, you misuse it,
preferring to bow than to balance.
