Wow, I'd really like to be sleeping right about now...

Yes, yes, Omegacon. Nov. 11, 12, and 13th. I am going. You should, too.

So it is the season, and once again the boo is in my blood (like literally-- just take out the 'l' and the 'd'), which means it's time once again for the annual

HAUNT CRAWL 2005

Since this year the pickin's seem to be rather slim, I'm thinking that a one-nighter is probably all we need. The only two haunts that I have any great desire to see so far are

Fright Farm
Trail of Terror

And possibly Trailers of Terror if they're up this year.

We almost always end up at Trail of Terror, since they have the most stuff and booze and a bonfire. And while most of the places are kid-friendly, younger chitluns may be overstimulated and terrified.

It looks like so many others have bit the dust. Tunnel of Terror is closed, as is The Dead Zone, Triplescare, Zombie Experience, and others. Which is really too bad, because we could use a really really cool haunted attraction, or a bunch of 'em.

Tentative plans for Saturday the 15th, though the following weekend could work, too.

Which night is best for the Haunt Crawl?

And if you know of any other cool haunts this year, let me know. I'd love to add some to the list!

(Pinehaven farms and Zwyiec's are out.)
Have I mentioned that I'm feeling a mite distracted today? Hm?

Tonight is shooting a couple of scenes at Casa de Bruno. I need to remember the glass. Looks like it's going to be raining tonight, so lighting may be a bit funky: I need to light from outdoors coming in.

Wednesday & Thursday I have "off". Wednesday looks like it's going to be raining all day so I may not get to work on the porch, but Thursday looks to maybe hold off on the downpour.

Depending on circumstances, I might use Wednesday to do some cleaning. The Big Broken Box™ could use it, though it's a bit like pissing in the wind.

Consider that:
  • Barb is moving out in the glacial sense, so there's still a bunch of her stuff left

  • Rick has moved out, but there's still some of his stuff left

  • Sasha just moved out this last weekend, and there's still some of her stuff left

  • A lot of stuff from the garage sale didn't sell, and is still in the living room

  • I moved in a few months ago, and I still haven't unpacked all of my stuff

And then there's the several months of pets having more or less the run of the house. It's not a pretty sight.

Truthfully, I haven't felt like it was home since I moved back. It's still just the Big Broken Box™, and it's midstream to a whole lot of flux. And I've been a little rudderless since I got back, too. Lots of reasons I suppose, but none so big as me just not grabbing the big stick and steering.

I've kinda been putting off a lot of the indoor stuff until winter, seeing as the front porch work is a touch more critical, and the concrete needs to be poured before it gets too cold. But you know, I'm gonna be having company over at some point, and I'd really like for them not to die.

Eventually, I'm going to need new furniture. The college-dorm-frathouse stuff that I have now is serviceable, and actually works quite well when it's primarily supporting small furry critters, but when we're talking about humans, it would be nice to have something a little less white trash.

And I need a real dining room table. And curtains.

I suspect that I will be doing a lot of sewing in the next year or so. I should probably consider getting a real sewing machine instead of the cheapie toy one that I picked up at Target last year, but you know I'd have to get a man's sewing machine and not one that's all girly frou-frou.

(Yeah, okay... sewing curtains isn't exactly brain surgery, and my machine will work just fine. I just had to poke a little fun at my manly sewing friends. But really, the Pfaff is just cool.)

And I know that I need to create an artwork for the final touch above the fireplace. Not sure what it will be quite yet, but I have an idea or two.

As for now, I'm in quite a state of flux. Lots of stuff happening, lots of stuff changing. It's kind of like I'm morphing into the next level or something.

Now if I can just keep it happening.
