But why is all the rum gone?

Yesterday I went up to Casa de Bruno to help install a flat-screen TV for Tony's birthday. In theory we were to be shooting that night, but a few hours early was good time to do the install.

The TV was to go above the fireplace downstairs. A really good location for the room, and it leaves the room a lot bigger without the really big rear-projection TV sucking up space. It meant drilling into brick, but since I have a hammer drill and masonry bits, it shouldn't be a problem.

I discovered a few things:

1.) Apparently at the time the house was built, someone had invented brick made from adamantium. The bricks were unbelievably hard, and it took a big chunk of time and the death of a few bits to make it happen.

2.) Using a hammer drill above your head for long periods of time is freaking exhausting.

Finally got the holes drilled, the anchors installed, and the TV in place. And it's really freakin' cool.

Trey ended up being sick, so the stuff we were going to shoot got postponed. And really, by that time, we were all kind of ready for a non-shooting social night. Sasha came over, and shortly after there was saveau, and there was rum. And we talked, and laughed, and got socially lubricated. And it was good. There needs to be more of this.

Best line of the night:

"Size doesn't matter, bitch!"

So all in all, a fabulous social weekend.

Today I should work on the porch. And I'm not hung over. Nope, not at all. Not one tiny bit.

(no subject)

Trip to Menards netted me a bit of lumber for the porch and the few materials that I need to prep for the pouring of the concrete, as well as more concrete. 400 lbs more to be exact. And I stopped my Micro Center to get a new mouse and keyboard for the black box, and was swayed into picking up a few games. Because, you know, I have so much spare time and all.

And now I am an exhausted little marmot. If I can work up the energy, I might go upstairs and replace the keyboard and mouse, but that whole "going upstairs" thing is so much work...
