(no subject)

Web-based training for a new bidness system pretty much all day today. Brain is full, and I am now information-zombie. Happily the weather looks nice, so when I get home, Sadie can have walkies and I can maybe clear my head for a bit.
More facade stuff tonight. I suspect I'm gonna have to make a foam cutting table at some point, because I still have a buttload of straight cuts that I need to make, and even with my super-duper hot knife, trying to make accurate right angles sucks donkey balls. I might try an experiment with a table saw and see how that does with foam, but I suspect that it will just shred it (unless I get a really thin fine-tooth veneer blade... hmm...).

The professionals cut with big frame automated hot-wire machines. And oddly, the white beadboard cuts better than the extruded pinkboard. Probably because it's less dense.

I'm also going to have to make a hot-wire profile cutter. That's actually a lot easier because the size that I'll be dealing with is a lot smaller, like 2-inch and 1-inch widths, rather than full 4 x 8 foot sheets.

Ah, well. Somebody's got to do it, right?
