Filmmaker-geek stuff

I've been gushing over Mark Romanek lately because I have discovered that he is the director of my favorite music video.

NIN closer

Probably not work safe. But it is the unedited version, and I consider it a work of art. Tom Foden as production designer also did production design on the Cell, which is a really pretty movie.

Thank you IMDB.

Also went and saw "Paycheck" (the new Ben Affleck flick). It's not a must-see movie by any means, but it's fun. Uma Thurman is completely misused, but Ben is prehaps the least Affleck-y that I've seen him (and doesn't it say something when Affleck-y is something that is actually descriptive?). Probably seven people in the theater (Block E). If you only see one movie this winter, pick a different one.

Making a transition from engineer who makes films to filmmaker who does engineering to make a living is a subtle process. It requires a leap of faith that I am scared to make. I know I have to, but it's leaping off into unsecure territory where I have to prove myself all over again.
