New apartment, with a month's rent plus another month deposit. A bed. A TV (I splurged, details below). A couch. Sheets, blankets, towels. Laundry detergent.
I'm going to be running over $3500 this week alone. Then again, that's about five weeks of what the savings of the apartment over the hotel is.
The bed: You know that tempur-pedic space-foam bed that you see all the commercials for? I tried one out. I found one that has a pillow-top on it. I may have a new favorite bed. I pick it up tomorrow night.
The TV:
Okay, I've been bitten by the bug. My friend Rocky bought a widescreen HDTV a few months back. It had fun things like progressive scan and line doubling, and when we watched a DVD on it, it looked absolutely freaking amazing.
And You know how sometimes when you go through a really bad emotional crushing experience, you need to buy something?
Philips 30PW850H.
The local Best Buy has them listed at $900. But they don't have any in stock. So I was on a trip to Sears to look at beds, and walked right by the TV section, and there it was.
On sale. $749.
Downside: they were out of stock, and could not order any more.
Upside: display model, 10% off.
Bear in mind, this is a true HDTV-ready set, not just widescreen. And it looks phenomenal. And I can write it off as a business expense. :)
Tomorrow is a busy busy day.
