I finally have an end date for my time here. Barring catastrophe, my last day will be April 29th. Happy Birthday to Me!
The Bad:
I decided to actually go out for lunch today. Hopped in the Exploder, and made it to the end of the parking lot before there was a clunk.
I hate the clunk.
Through some marvelous autogymnastic feat, I had managed to bump my 4WD switch to 4WD LOW, which is only designed for slow speeds, and when I stopped at the end of the lot, it was slow enough to engage.
So I turned the 4WD off.
Um.
I turned the 4WD off.
Um.
I. Turned. The. 4WD. OFF.
Nope.
Lest we forget, when in 4WD mode, the transmission goes into a different place where you can reach a top speed of about 30 MPH. And it wasn't leaving.
So I managed to drive down to the TexaLube shop down the road.
In a tiny brainstorm, it occurred to me that
a.) I hadn't had my transmission fluid changed in a long time, and
b.) it was the coldest day of the year so far.
$113.00 later, all is fine.
The Ugly:
The fastest way of transferring money from my account down here to my account up there (to be able to pay bills & house payments from the already-established account) is a wire transfer. Twenty bucks a pop.
It's still cheaper than the $26.00 per check for direct deposit, or the ungodly amount that would come up in bounced check fees. Still, *snarl*.
