I pushed it a little tonight. Lifted to the point of exhaustion, being unable to lift the weight anymore. And I can feel it right now. I'm going to be gone over the weekend, so I wanted to go off with a bang, so to speak.

My ass hurts. Verily, I have kicked it.

I think a lot has to do with what you want to do. I'm trying to hit a balance between lean muscle mass and bulk-- the lean muscle is prime for endurance, which is what I need more of, but I'm also trying to do some sculpting and for that I need bulk in a few places.

Less weight, more reps = lean muscle
More weight, less reps = mass.

Tonight I hit 80 reps (4 sets of 20) at 90 lbs on the thigh adductor-- the pushing-out one. I can feel it in my ass. The inner thigh I've bumped up to 40 lbs, and I got to 3 sets of 20.
And I've been doing sets of 20 on the crunch machine, though tonight I backed it up a notch so I'm working from a semi-reclined position, and I had a serious bitch of a time with 90 lbs. Back I have no problem with sets of 20 at 150 lbs.

But things like the shoulder press-- I hit ten reps of 15 lbs (the lightest possible), and was almost screaming with pain.

It's all better than nothing, for sure.

And I'm trying Creatine. Supposed to help with muscle fatigue.
