Getting settled in at work. These first several days are primarily
orientation and getting to know as much as I can about the system(s)
that I'll be dealing with.

But Holy cow, I've somehow managed to get attached to a company that
actually has addressed many of the issues that I have had with corporate
america. There is actually a focus on ethics and respect, integrity,
communication and honesty. And people are actually happy to be at work.

I didn't think it was possible. And I'm still being cautious. But if it
is as good as it looks to be, I could actually end up being happy.

Bose is an interesting company, from the top level (Dr. Amar Bose) down.
Some day I'll tell you more, but I'm mondo impressed.

Since I turned in my resignation yesterday morning, I've had more people question my motivations for leaving than I can count, not the least of which is the departmental VP.

Never before has my decision to leave a company been so unilaterally questioned by my coworkers. Never before have I been so galvanized to leave now I see the true colors of this management.

I'm reserving my right to be happy about my new gig. I have already been contacted about my internet access at home, so they can set me up for VPN access before I arrive. I just may faint if I get to work from home.

Work from home for an actual full-time gig is nice. Of course, it could also mean that you'll be on-call 24/7...
