Just filled up my gas tank.

Sixty. Dollars.

I think I may have lost an internal organ.

If I could afford one, yes. Though that still doesn't solve the problem of winter driving.

Bus bus, magic bus!

That would end me with a nearly two-hour commute, one way.

If I lived in a real city like you do with a functioning bus system, I would totally live on the bus. As it is, I can only take the bus until 6:00 p.m. or so. You should take advantage of your city bus system!

Re: two cents
If I worked in the city, that would be one thing. My job is unfortunately in a different city, and will be moving to a new location in November. With transfers and traffic, it's almost a two-hour commute by bus one way.

Re: two cents
Calling our bus system "functioning" is a stretch. They're fine if you work in either downtown. Those of us who do not are stuck with truly odd commutes.

It cost me $25 to fill my Corolla! I'm seriously looking into buying a scooter now. I had been toying with the idea for about a year. Now I've got incentive. Time to do a cost-benefit analysis.

I'mn actually seriously considering trading in my "new" (well, one year old) Saturn L300 station wagon for more-or-less exactly the same car I used to have: A Saturn SL-1. Though I love my wagon, and it gets great travel mileage, it's unbelievably bad in city traffic.

But I'm with the Marmot: Unless gas prices stabilize downward (and SOON) I think we're looking at a major, major recession in the coming two to three years.

On Wednesday I went to a station that was "out" of the two "cheapest" kinds of gas. I had to fill up on super+++ or whatever. GAY. They so weren't out, either. I saw the fuel truck there less than 12 hours earlier.. Homofuckingsexual. I hate driving 45 minutes to work.
