It's Friday, and I'm definitely squirrely. Haunt Crawl redux is tonight, the weekend is here, and I don't have to shoot a movie.

Don't get me wrong, I love shooting movies. The work is wonderful, and it's thoroughly engaging. But it's also exhausting.

I need to take some downtime, spend some quality time with my fluffy girl, sleep in, and watch bad movies for a while. A rubdown and snuggling would be nice, too.

Even when I'm beat down and exhausted, there's still nothing I'd rather be doing.

Except maybe sleep.

There comes a point at which I become so fatigued that my judgement comes into question. I can tell when this happens, and I know that if possible, it's time for me to take a break. If I'm doing things like mixing or editing, it's usually after 2-3 hours at a shot, and I can get up and walk around for a bit. On location, it's usually more like 8-9 hours, but it depends on how long I've been shooting. In this case, there were a LOT of long days compacted into a short space, and it came earlier.

It's a lot of adrenaline. And when the shoot is done at the end of the night, there is a big crash. Longer shoots-- bigger crash.

But yeah, there's always a next one.
