There is no Dana, there is only Zool.
Headed up to Casa de Bruno last night for some company and to watch the assembly cut of the movie.
For those of you wondering, the assembly cut is the roughest rough cut of all. It basically has the completely unpolished scenes assembled in the order in which they are intended to appear in the finished movie.
First impression: it's too short. I think we're currently timing in at under an hour, which is the death zone for movies. A feature needs to be 70 minutes at a minimum, and that's really short.
Of course, you don't want to add to a movie just to make it longer, so we spent some time identifying what we could add to help flesh out the story. I don't think we have an additional ten minutes of stuff to add, but we might. And it does mean some additional shooting beyond what we had planned.
It also means changing the opening of the movie, and changing the order in which some things happen.
The best part is that all of this is normal.
Zool on a Zamboni.
Then there's this nifty thing where my knuckles hurt like hell, particularly on my
I forgot my glucose kit at work last night, along with my cell phone. Duh. Weigh-in this morning was down 0.5 lbs from waking yesterday, which is so far down in the noise level as to be meaningless.
I have discovered that I am unable or unwilling at this point to commit to a completely solid-food-free diet. Even with added protein, the hunger is all-consuming. Thing is, I think it's okay and probably reasonably healthy to give in to the cravings and keep them small, rather than letting them reach the point where I risk a binge. And I'm still doing pretty well-- I've been trying to keep my solid food intake to salads and non-fat cheese.
Last night I broke down and had a double cheeseburger from McD's.
Best. Cheeseburger. Ever.
And as it turns out, I was bloody well sated for the rest of the night. Up until that point, I had maintained the shakes-and-broth-only status for the day. Felt guilty, but the being-able-to-get-my-mind-off-of-food thing was worth it.
Today I had a cup of Special K Smart Start cereal (dry) and a half-teaspoon of some relatively healthy peanut butter in addition to the morning shake. I'll probably nibble on more salad tonight. And I shall soon have to do more grocery shopping.
Bear in mind that grocery shopping now is a weird event. Aside from the Slim-Fast stuff, I'm pretty much getting fresh vegetables and occasional bits of fruit. I'll probably splurge a bit on some pickles, hot peppers, and hot sauce, and I'll try and find some turkey breasts to roast. It's really different than what I usually do, or have done in the past.
Of course, it also makes dinner dates a pain in the ass.
