What's so scary about Intelligent Design?

Some things science just can't explain. Such as the mystery of how a perfect creator turned himself into one of his less-than perfect creations--a man--but still remained perfect.

Didn't we ever get past this?

I always went with the assumption that any scholarly discussion of theology had some core understandings of icons and symbols and literary license, rather than making literal decisions.

Maybe it's where I came from, but I have much more belief in Yeshua the man and teacher and prophet than in Jesus being the creator enfleshed. I can have discussions in a very real and enlightening sense when I'm not confronted with "it's divine therefore you are wrong".

It's almost like "I'm the president, I make the law."

Here I thought that philosophy, science and theology were all answering different questions - but in all of them, there is no condemnation of inquisitiveness.

And I was taught that "a perfect creator" didn't become one of his creations but instead acted through him. Ta-dah, no mystery.

Why, the obvious, of course; It's not science, but its practitioners try to claim it is - with the intent of destroying science (And they were caught red-handed at it). That's what's scary.
