'Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.' Einstein knew what he was talking about. He spent his whole life investigating and questioning 'reality'. As Venus now changes direction in the sky, you find yourself following in his footsteps, albeit not so scientifically. A 'persistent illusion' now needs to be re-examined. Today brings the opportunity to start creating a very different reality for yourself in the future. Things don't have to be the way they have always been. If you want to rewrite the rules, you can.

From now on:

1.) I am sexy.
2.) I get do-overs.
3.) Size does not matter.

reality, truth...all that fuzzy stuff. what is "real" and what is "truth" for you will be different than what is real and truth for me.
I think it's all a matter of perspective. I figure.

umm... you are confusing your perception (truth for me) with what is true, independent of our perception. Sidewalks are plastered with the remains of people whose personal truths told them they could fly. Reality is a nasty brutish thing when it violently contradicts your perceptions.

Wow, this went to a really different place than I thought.

Reality is relative for everyone based on their perceptions. It is a model that exists only within the mind.

The fact that the mind perceives a hard concrete externalization of the non-self, and perceives that there are others who share that concrete externalization make it "real" in the sense that it affects the perceptions of the self.

Thing is, we take that reality on faith. And it's a good working model. The alternative is insanity and being splattered on the sidewalk.

Einstein wasn't wrong, but he's being quoted way out of context here. His quote comes from talking about releativistic mechanics and how what we observe and believe in as Newtonian mechanics is only a small part of the spectrum of how things behave.

I'm gonna go have a cookie.
