bubble could go any day now. and with peak oil upon us or coming soon, I'd hold on to my house if I could...unless you can get those overinflated prices right away and cash out, I wouldn't put it on the market for very long... not that I'm a real estate expert, I'm just sayin' doom n' gloom is all

It's a bit of a tightrope act. On one hand, I need to do a certain amount of work to get it into some form of curb appeal. OTOH, if I could do a minimal amount of work and cash out soonish, the equity is a nice little siren call. That would make a hell of a down payment on a new place somewhere else.

I found a house near James going for almost 100K more than what he bought his for. With a couple appliance updates, he could easily get that much. It is tempting, but we both need jobs in San Diego (and I'd need a subletter) to make it happen. =)
