League of Ordinary Gentlemen

Not a movie review, just a reflection on my life.

I actually went to bed way early last night, like a little after 8:00. I read a little bit (Stone Monkey), and fell asleep somewhere a little after 9:00. Partly due to the back pain, partly due to just being tired, and partly because I could.

I managed to install Wolfenstein II last night, and run through the first scene. It looks way cool with the ATI-specific acceleration option on. Not enough time to really go into it in depth, but there are zombies in it, which makes me feel like it should be a lot of fun. Now all I need is time to play it.

Yeah, right.

Camera tests.

With all the moviemaking going on right now, I need to do some camera tests this week. There are some special effects shots that I want to do, and I need to know whether or not I can do them, and whether the methods I've chosen will work. For one, I want to absolutely answer the question as to whether or not I can successfully do greenscreen compositing with my existing camera, as there's such a call for it. The other one I'm wanting to try is a morph technique for motion that's considerably more for effect than a practical shot.
And I need to try a rig-removal test as well.

So it's supposed to be raining a lot this week, and I'm hoping that it will be relatively clear one or two nights so that I can do the majority of these tests outside.

And hey, if I'm lucky, I can find some babealicious babe to be my test subject. If I have to be looking at the same footage over and over, it might as well be footage that I like to look at. :)

Which leads me into a whole other realm, which is fodder for an entirely different journal entry.

So in the meantime, it's back to work I go.
